Why do customers really buy?

Not for the reasons they give you. Decades of behavioral research — from Daniel Kahneman's System 1 and System 2 to Robert Cialdini's principles of persuasion — show that buying decisions are made by a fast, emotional, shortcut-driven brain, and justified afterwards by a slow, logical one. Most marketing is written for the logical brain. This course teaches you to design for the real one.

Consumer Psychology & Behavioral Marketing Masterclass is a complete, applied tour of the psychology behind buying — 53 short, animated lessons across 12 sections (3 hours 47 minutes), built for practitioners. Every principle is paired with the decision it changes: a price, a page, a default, an email, a checkout. And nearly every section closes by putting the theory to work on a real brand.

What makes this course different

It's applied, not academic. Each lecture ends in a framework or a checklist you can run the same day: the Six-Brains Map for B2B deals, the De-Risking Stack, the Bias Stack Audit, the Dark Pattern Diagnostic, the Light of Day Test.
Real brands, named. Spotify Wrapped, Dove's Real Beauty, Booking dot com persuasion machine, Samsung vs. Apple, the AG1 store — dissected layer by layer, including what the regulators said.
It covers what other courses skip. Choice architecture and nudges, neuromarketing and AI-era persuasion, B2B buying psychology, and a full ethics section — four areas most marketing-psychology courses never touch.
It teaches defense as well as offense. You'll learn to spot dark patterns, manufactured urgency and stacked pressure — in competitors' funnels and in your own — and exactly where the line between persuasion and manipulation sits.
It ends with a capstone, not a goodbye. In the final lecture you'll audit a live funnel with the full stack of frameworks from the course, score every layer with evidence, run the ethics matrix, and fix the weakest cell — using the downloadable Comprehensive Case-Study Workbook.

How the course is organized

You'll start with the buying brain (System 1 vs. System 2, why emotion decides and logic justifies), master Cialdini's seven principles and the classic sequential tactics, then move through cognitive biases and pricing psychology. From there: social proof at scale, emotion and storytelling, choice architecture, habits and loyalty, neuromarketing and AI persuasion, and B2B buying psychology — before the ethics line and your capstone audit tie everything together.

If you write copy, set prices, build funnels, run lifecycle campaigns or sell to businesses, this course will change how you see every screen your customers touch. As Lecture 8.1 puts it: there is no neutral design. You design decisions anyway. This course teaches you to design them well — and honestly.
