Fire Safety in Hotels & Hospitality

Working in a hotel or hospitality environment means looking after the safety and comfort of guests, staff and visitors. Fire safety is an important part of that responsibility. With kitchens, laundry rooms, guest bedrooms, electrical equipment and busy public areas, hotels face a range of fire risks that everyone should understand.

This course is designed to help you recognise those risks and understand what to do to prevent fires and respond safely if an emergency occurs.

You will learn how fires start and spread, why smoke can be so dangerous, and how everyday activities such as cooking, housekeeping, maintenance and electrical equipment can create fire hazards. We will also look at practical ways to reduce these risks and help maintain a safer hotel environment.

The course covers fire prevention, fire doors, escape routes, alarms, emergency lighting, sprinklers and other fire protection systems. You will also develop an understanding of how to raise the alarm, communicate with guests, support evacuation and assist people who may need extra help during an emergency.

You'll also explore different types of fire extinguishers, how they are used, their limitations and why knowing when not to fight a fire is just as important as knowing how to respond.

This training is suitable for anyone working in hotels and hospitality, including housekeeping staff, receptionists, kitchen employees, maintenance teams, supervisors, security personnel and Fire Wardens. No previous fire safety experience is needed.

My aim is to help you build practical fire safety awareness and feel more confident about your responsibilities at work.
